Marc Jacobs F/W 2011

Marc Jacobs has to be one of my favourite designers. Why, I could not tell you, nor have I examined his designs long enough to tell you. There's just something about the clothes that make me happy.
But anyways, here's to the Fall collection.

The collection sort of divides itself into three different sort of looks. There's this futuristic space vibe with shiny fabrics and simple lines. The other reminds me of a Southern Belle, but from the Swan Princess. You know the one during the Princesses on Parade song, where she has the dress like made of corn. And the last section of dresses reminds me of the thirties with the silhouettes.

Much of the fabrics are shiny and shimmery. They give a rich texture and appearance and a look of elegance without resorting to something floaty. The clothes also look quite heavy, which would be nice for the winter. It's like designers remembered it actually gets cold in many places of the world!

Oh, and not to mention that everything is like covered in polka dots!

Now, my personal favourites from the collection!

This is what we'll be wearing in Space Paris!

I'm hoping Prince Derek comes along and picks up the piece of corn that has fallen off.

I think they would also wear this in Space Paris, but in the 1930's.
I love the structure of the outfit. It makes for such an interesting silhouette. It's not particularly modern, but I like how everything is fitted. Like when we all made clothes instead of buying them from the store.

I hope to update my blog every day this month, starting today. It might be a bit hard with exams coming up and everything being super stressful, but I will try!

Fall 2011

So, as I set school aside, I have realized that a lot of designers have already put out their fall collections. For me, this is quite sad because I haven't even had the chance to wear spring clothes.
I still have to wear tights, sweaters and thick coats.

The fall collections I've looked at so far seem stunning. There are a variety of rich prints and textures that makes me think all the designers have been stealing curtains from royal palaces. This, however, is a good thing. Perhaps they took a lesson from Giselle in Disney's Enchanted?

Another thing I've noticed is the dresses that Wednesday Addams would love to borrow. On second thought, I would also love to borrow them. I admired that morose child when I was younger. She had a doll named Marie Antoinette that did not have a head and always seemed to have it out for her brother.

And my ABSOLUTELY favourite thing about Fall 2011 so far is that all these clothes look like something you can actually wear during the cold fall months.
Designers, I applaud you, except for Gucci.
Gucci, you come to Canada wearing that, say November, and then we'll talk.

Also, thank you to everyone who's read my blog! Please, darling readers, help me out and leave me some feedback!
I'll have more on specific collections later as school becomes less hectic.
